Today I have thought this: conclusions in D&D do not conclude the game. Yes, there are many conclusions in D&D: when you gain a level, when you finish a campaign, when you finish an adventure, when you reach level 20, and even as small as defeating the boss in the minor side-quest three roomed dungeon!
If you look at it, all of those are conclusions. Yes, they are conclusions, but they don't end the game. You could go on for hours or years or decades playing till level 100, and so you passed level 20, that was a conclusion, but it didn't end the game, did it?
So there it is: conclusions don't end the game.
